Special Needs

Special needs cats have chronic conditions which necessitate special care and/or treatment for an extended period of time. Special needs kitties are adopted to a new owner on a case by case basis. These cats require extra time, patience, resources, and knowledge to properly care for them. Some local shelters even offer clases to help new owners prepare and care for their special needs cats. These cats are rarities, as most health conditions are seen to and fixed prior to adoption. However, some cannot be fixed, such as deafness, blindness or other conditions they may have been born with. These cats still have potential to becoming a wonderful loving cat for a lucky family. If you are interested in adopting a special needs cat, please contact our Adoptions Coordinator.

If you do not feel that you are not up to the challenge but still want to help, you may sponsor a Special Needs kitty by going to this page. Sponsorship helps alleviate the great monetary strain that special needs kitties can sometimes place on their current foster parent. Everything helps.
